Farm Fresh Produce, plants and cut flowers

Vegetable box subscription program

Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) organic produce box program will start up again on April 25th.  The Spring program runs for 7 weeks at $25 per box.  A typical Spring Box includes about 7 items, for example chard, mixed salad, Japanese turnips, pac choi, radishes, kale and rhubarb. There are options for weekly or bi-weekly boxes. Subscriptions are paid upfront.

The Summer program starts on June 13th and runs for 14 weeks at $30 cost per box.  The Fall program starts towards the end of September and lasts for 6 – 8 weeks (also at a cost of $30 per box).

I love picking up the veggie boxes every week from Longmeadow.

The quality and freshness of the veggies are unmatched, and the variety is abundant.”

– Elliot Brady, CSA box customer since 2021

Our purpose

Our purpose is to grow tasty, high quality, organic food for our community. Three years ago, we were new to farming and new to Sooke! We have learned a lot about our soil, compost, irrigation, and the land we live on since then. We have set up three solar-powered pumps for irrigation, built two small polytunnels to extend our growing season and now have about 1.5 acre under cultivation.

Our focus has been on building the soil.  We use farm-produced compost and minimize digging to encourage soil biology to thrive.  We use only natural ingredients in our fertilizers and no sprays.  We are now seeing the results of our three years of labor with amazing harvests of a wide range of produce.

We bring our produce to the Sooke Country Market every Saturday in the summer months, run a weekly box CSA subscription program from April – November, supply a local restaurant and open our roadside farm stand on Sundays. We also sell cut flowers, potted plants and supply flowers and make  bouquets for weddings.

We enrolled to become certified organic in 2020 when we started and received full certification in January 2023.

At Longmeadow Farm our intention is to work in harmony with nature and be good stewards of the land. We appreciate the land for what it gives us and enjoy our work producing tasty food!

Our Farm stand is closed for the year, but we still have some vegetables for sale (see above).

We are an organic farm officially certified with Island Organic Producers Association (IOPA).
